Out & About

Guests may stroll along one of the beautiful nature trails through the surrounding 250 acre Derrynoid Forest. Nestled at the foot of the Sperrins, the Derrynoid Centre is surrounded by beautiful mountains with a variety of walks to suit everyone's needs, from the casual walker to the more experienced mountain climber.

Cycling opportunities are in abundance with a range of local cycling routes and trails both on and off road, that meander through the countryside, villages and townlands.

Other attractions within a few miles of the Derrynoid Centre are Angling in Lough Neagh and the Rivers Foyle, and Lower Bann, golfing (18 hole) at Moyola Golf Club, Castledawson, and caravan and camping parks at locations such as Ballyronan Marina, and Sixtowns.

Historical buildings such as Springhill House in Moneymore, Wellbrook Beetling Mill near Cookstown, Bellaghy Bawn to name only a few, are well worth a visit.

There are also a range of festivals, events and entertainment throughout the year, including, Sperrins Hillwalking Festival, Sperrin Balloon Festival, Storytelling, and Musical festivals.

Leisure Centres and Cinemas are in the neighbouring towns of Maghera, Magherafelt and Cookstown. Our friendly reception staff are only too willing to help create the perfect visit to suit your tastes.
